Functional Consultant - SAP Sales and Distribution (SD)

Overview

The Functional Consultant specializing in SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) will manage the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the SAP SD module tailored to the company's sales order processing, billing, distribution, and customer service operations. This role demands in-depth knowledge of the SD module's business processes and the capability to collaborate across functions to deploy leading practices, boost system performance, support project rollouts, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian and international sales standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and fine-tune the SAP SD module encompassing sales order processing, pricing, billing, shipping, credit management, and returns handling.
• Guarantee smooth integration of SD with other SAP modules such as Materials Management (MM), Financial Accounting (FI), and Production Planning (PP).
• Implement system updates and changes to optimize the order-to-cash cycle in line with business objectives.
• Collaborate with sales, logistics, and customer service teams to gather requirements and design SAP SD solutions enhancing order fulfillment, delivery, and invoicing.
• Identify and promote automation and digital solutions within sales and distribution procedures to elevate efficiency and reduce errors.
• Continuously review and update SAP SD configurations to keep pace with evolving business requirements.
• Work alongside SAP consultants of other modules (FI, MM, WM, PP) to ensure comprehensive process integration.
• Coordinate with ERP leadership and business stakeholders to align SD capabilities with company goals emphasizing customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
• Provide day-to-day functional support, troubleshoot user issues, and minimize disruptions in sales and distribution operations.
• Manage incident resolution processes and liaise with IT teams to resolve technical challenges related to SAP SD.
• Ensure configurations comply with local regulatory frameworks encompassing VAT, import/export controls, and billing standards.
• Collaborate with finance and audit departments to maintain adherence to internal controls and compliance mandates.
• Stay informed and update SD settings reflecting changes in local and global sales legislation.
• Develop and deliver training materials and sessions to end-users to enhance SAP SD utilization.
• Maintain detailed documentation covering system configurations, updates, and support activities.
• Contribute to SAP SD implementation projects, system upgrades, testing phases, and ensure a smooth transition through each project lifecycle stage.
• Assist in crafting IT policies, systems, procedures, and reports to maintain process consistency and operational ease.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Preferably holds SAP SD certification.
• Proven experience between 5 to 7 years in configuring and supporting SAP SD modules.
