Each store strongly supports local pet welfare through partnerships with shelters, rescues, and charities, hosting adoption events, in-store adoptions (select locations), pet food bank initiatives, and nationwide donation campaigns.
Position Summary
The Sales Associate role offers an opportunity to assist pet owners by applying your knowledge to recommend appropriate nutrition and products for their pets. Key Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register and engage in customer sales transactions.
- Handle merchandise orders, banking duties, and complete miscellaneous paperwork.
- Stock smaller items weighing less than 10 lbs such as pet supplies and household goods in the sales area.
- Maintain store cleanliness through sweeping, dusting, and other general upkeep tasks.
- Assist with unloading deliveries, handling up to 50 lbs, and organizing stock.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support store operations.
Work Schedule
Expected to work between 32 to 40 hours weekly, including potential weekends and evening shifts.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Prior experience in retail or customer service settings.
- Familiarity with POS systems for efficient transaction handling.
- Friendly and outgoing personality with strong customer service focus.
- Physical capability to repeatedly lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality as per scheduled shifts.
- Dependable transportation to commute to the store location.
