Role Overview

We are seeking a proficient Frontend Developer to take significant ownership of our web application. The ideal candidate will go beyond implementation, helping shape the frontend architecture by designing scalable UI components, carefully maintaining and enhancing legacy code, and delivering superior user experiences across various workflows and task management tools. This role suits a technically capable and self-driven developer eager for broad responsibilities and growth under guidance from our Lead Developer. This position requires working onsite 2 to 3 days per week at our Montebello headquarters in Rockland County, NY.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain advanced UI features.
• Understand and contribute to a legacy codebase, extending it responsibly without regressions.
• Design reusable, well-documented UI component libraries and frontend design patterns.
• Create intuitive and responsive interfaces catering to diverse workflows and task management, optimized for all devices and browsers.
• Work closely with backend engineers to integrate frontend components with PHP services.
• Lead or actively engage in code reviews, fostering team-wide quality improvements.
• Identify and address performance issues, driving page load and overall optimization enhancements.
• Participate in frontend architectural decisions advocating for scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
• Communicate risks, obstacles, and progress proactively to stakeholders to prevent issues.

Required Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in frontend development.
• Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Hands-on experience with React or Vue.js in production environments.
• Adept at navigating and extending legacy codebases with confidence.
• Strong knowledge of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience working in Git-based workflows including branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Ability to produce clean, scalable, well-documented code.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of surfacing issues early, documenting decisions, and collaborating effectively.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of UI/UX best practices with the ability to critically evaluate and influence design decisions.
• Familiarity with PHP and backend service integration patterns.
• Comfort leading technical discussions and championing architectural choices.
• Experience with frontend build tools such as Webpack, Vite, Babel, and PostCSS.
• Contributions to or leadership in component libraries or design systems.
• Exposure to enterprise-scale web applications with high complexity.
• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and inclusive design principles.
