Role Overview
The position is for a hands-on Front Office Manager responsible for managing daily front desk operations. This leadership role emphasizes excellent customer service, team mentorship, operational efficiency, and contributes to the resort's overall success. Ideal candidates thrive in a fast-moving hospitality setting and are prepared to live on-site full-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of front office functions including guest check-in/check-out, reservations, inquiries, and administrative duties.
- Lead, guide, and develop the front office team to maintain superior guest service and uphold operational standards.
- Control workforce scheduling, staffing, and labor cost management aligned with budget and business requirements.
- Track and communicate occupancy, room availability, and revenue forecasts across departments.
- Collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure a flawless guest experience.
- Handle financial tasks such as billing, reconciliations, cash management, and reporting, ensuring compliance and precision.
- Improve operational processes, ensure workplace health and safety, and act on guest feedback to elevate service quality.
Required Skills and Experience
- Tertiary or TAFE qualifications in Business, Tourism, Hospitality Management, or related fields are mandatory.
- Two to three years' experience in roles such as Front Office Manager, Duty Manager, or Hotel Supervisor.
- Proficiency with RMS, ReviewPro, or REZDY booking systems.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and various online booking platforms (travel, corporate express, accommodation).
- Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, or managing hospitality accounts is highly valued.
- Proven leadership capabilities to inspire and support a high-performing team.
- Possession of a current Driver's Licence and Working with Children Check is essential; First Aid and Occupational Health and Safety certifications are a plus.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills paired with a strong commitment to customer service.
- Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to perform efficiently under pressure.
