Role overview
BaxterStorey is hiring a Front of House General Assistant for its Linlithgow site. This is a full-time, on-site position working 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a pay rate of £12.71 per hour.

Key duties
- Deliver food and drinks to guests in a polite, professional manner.
- Handle guest questions, requests, and concerns quickly and helpfully.
- Keep dining and kitchen spaces clean and hygienic.
- Work closely with kitchen colleagues to keep service running smoothly.
- Follow food safety rules and internal operating standards.
- Help prepare dining areas before service and clear them down afterward.
- Take guest payments accurately and efficiently.
- Join team briefings and training to improve service quality.
- Support special functions and catering activity when required.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in food service and guest satisfaction, plus the confidence to work in a busy team environment. You should be approachable, dependable, and able to adapt when priorities change.
Good communication, attention to detail, and a professional manner are important. You should also be comfortable being on your feet, moving around, and carrying items for long periods. Prior experience in hospitality or catering is helpful, and training can be provided for some aspects of the role, including basic food hygiene and relevant compliance awareness.
Working pattern
This role follows a Monday to Friday schedule.

Additional information
Experience in catering, food service, or hospitality is desirable rather than mandatory. Basic food hygiene knowledge or certification is an advantage, though training will be provided. Awareness of COSHH requirements and food safety legislation is desirable but not essential, as support and training will be given.
