About the Role
Genpact is seeking a Front Line Manager for its Finance & Accounting (F&A) Accounts Payable (AP) team in Kolkata. This role involves overseeing daily AP operations, managing a team, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, leadership potential, and proficiency in ERP systems. Responsibilities
- Provide operational oversight for the daily processing of supplier invoices and employee reimbursements, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and policy adherence.
- Monitor the accounts payable ledger for completeness and accuracy.
- Manage the entire AP cycle, from invoice receipt and validation through approval, payment, and reconciliation.
- Coordinate and manage the workload of junior AP team members, serving as the primary point of contact for their inquiries and escalations.
- Assist in the onboarding and training of new team members on relevant systems and procedures.
- Motivate the team to achieve performance and accuracy targets.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal controls and audit requirements, and support audit preparation.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring fraud prevention measures.
- Effectively resolve vendor queries and payment discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with vendors and internal departments such as procurement and treasury.
- Generate essential AP reports, including aging reports, due payment summaries, and exception reports.
- Support monthly and quarterly financial closing activities.
- Analyze payment trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Identify and address inefficiencies within AP processes, recommending and implementing automation or best practices.
- Participate in AP system upgrades and ERP implementations as required.
- Engage in management training sessions and cross-functional projects, shadowing senior finance leaders to deepen understanding of financial operations.
- Demonstrate leadership potential through initiative and proactive engagement.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in Finance is also acceptable.
- Proven understanding of accounting principles and the end-to-end Accounts Payable process.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high accuracy standards.
- Potential for leadership and people management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
