Job description

Role overview

The Front Desk Associate supports the gym by creating a welcoming first impression and delivering a high standard of service to members and guests. The role is focused on smooth front desk operations, reliable member support, and maintaining an organized, professional environment.

Member and guest service

  • Greet visitors and members promptly and make sure they receive friendly, helpful assistance.
  • Answer incoming phone calls in a polished and efficient way.
  • Handle member check-ins accurately and follow the required entry process.
  • Respond to member questions, requests, and concerns, and escalate unresolved issues to management without delay.
  • Manage maintenance logs, member fitness profiles, phone inquiries, and group fitness bookings.
  • Report unsafe conditions or emergency situations to management immediately.

Club operations and administration

  • Keep the front desk and lobby tidy and presentable throughout the day.
  • Track retail targets and help the club stay aligned with assigned sales goals.
  • Contact members with overdue dues or unpaid down payments.
  • Work with maintenance and cleaning staff to quickly resolve upkeep or cleanliness issues in the club.

Qualifications and working style

  • You should bring a high-energy approach, a warm personality, and a consistently positive attitude.
  • Strong people skills and clear communication are important, including professional phone manners.
  • A strong service mindset, diplomacy, and professionalism are essential.
  • You must be able to understand and carry out both spoken and written instructions.

Education and certification

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Current CPR/AED certification is required.
