Role Overview
The Guest Services Representative (code 402110) works in the Rooms department and reports to the GSM, AGM, or GM. This is a non-exempt position focused on delivering a welcoming and high-quality guest experience at the hotel front desk.
Job Summary
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for hotel guests. Your day-to-day work includes checking guests in and out, managing reservations, answering questions, and resolving guest concerns so that each stay feels smooth and memorable.
Core Duties
- Welcome guests as they arrive, complete the check-in process, and share details about hotel features, services, and amenities.
- Process departures, verify charges, and handle payment collection accurately.
- Receive and route phone calls, respond to guest questions, and help resolve issues.
- Create, update, and cancel reservations when needed.
- Offer local recommendations for attractions, dining, and activities.
- Keep the front desk workspace neat, orderly, and presentable.
- Support luggage handling and other guest service needs as required.
- Maintain the property’s service and hospitality standards consistently.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. College coursework or hospitality training is preferred. Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or a similar role is also preferred. The role calls for strong communication, interpersonal ability, and comfort working in a busy, fast-moving environment. Basic computer knowledge is necessary, and familiarity with hotel reservation systems is an advantage. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
Work Environment
This position is based in a professional hotel setting. You will regularly use common office tools such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers. The environment is typically moderately noisy.
Compensation
Pay is competitive and depends on experience.
