What the employer is looking for

• Prior experience of around 2 years in a fresh food department is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or managerial position is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication ability.

Key responsibilities

• Represent and live the Centra brand values: Proud, Energetic, Imaginative, and Community-Based.
• Lead the day-to-day operation of the fresh food departments by organizing priorities and assigning tasks appropriately.
• Work with the team to set, track, and deliver sales goals, including gross margin, net margin, waste reduction, and other KPIs agreed with the Store Manager.
• Maintain control over stocktaking and overheads in line with the fresh food budget.
• Build positive working relationships across the team.
• Run regular fresh food meetings and share relevant updates and performance results with staff.
• Oversee employee performance through regular feedback, recognition, and support.
• Handle customer questions and issues promptly, professionally, and in line with store policy.
• Manage staff schedules and annual leave for the fresh food departments.
• Ensure the fresh department is always merchandised and presented to the highest standard and follows store planograms and guidelines.
