Role Overview
In this position, you will work directly with fresh fruits and vegetables, preparing them for sale by cutting, portioning, and packaging them with care. The job also involves checking product quality, keeping work areas sanitary and orderly, building appealing produce displays, and helping with stock rotation, inventory tasks, and customer support. It is a physically active, quick-moving role suited to someone who enjoys food preparation, works well with others, and brings a positive, dependable attitude to the team.
Key Duties
- Prepare fresh produce by slicing, dicing, and packaging items to presentation standards.
- Inspect fruits and vegetables for quality and freshness before they are offered for sale.
- Keep prep stations clean, organized, and compliant with food handling expectations.
- Create and maintain attractive displays that encourage customer interest.
- Support inventory control, replenishment, and restocking activities.
- Assist shoppers and respond to questions in a friendly, helpful manner.
Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate has prior exposure to grocery, produce preparation, or food service work. Comfort with knives and prep tools, strong attention to food safety, and the ability to move quickly while handling multiple tasks are important. A customer-focused approach, good communication, and a commitment to cleanliness and teamwork are also expected. The role requires the ability to remain on your feet for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs. with or without accommodation.
