Key Responsibilities
- Create, research, write, produce, and edit impactful news stories aimed at a national viewership.
- Work closely with assignment editors, reporters, writers, and executive producers to make decisions aligned with CBS editorial standards.
- Lead live control room operations, ensuring composure and adaptability, particularly during breaking news situations.
- Manage editing, script development, and the design of news graphics.
- Effectively time and pace programs and segments for maximum impact and urgency.
- Maintain flawless grammar, spelling, and detail, crafting writing that is active and conversational.
- Apply sharp editorial judgment, communicate clearly, and think critically to uphold high journalistic standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years in broadcast or cable news settings.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
- Strong background in journalism and television production, with expertise in news judgment, rundown management, and precise broadcast writing.
- Live control room experience, specifically as a Line Producer, is essential.
