About the Role

Newscape Studios, Inc oversees a network of a dozen YouTube channels amassing over 10 million subscribers, producing animation content focused on popular video games like Fortnite and Minecraft, as well as original creations catering to younger audiences. They utilize animation and machinima to deliver diverse video content.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain an organized and efficient workflow balancing quality with productivity goals.
• Produce approximately 25 animation shots or roughly 2.5 minutes of content weekly.
• Deliver expert-level cutout and rigged character animations using Toon Boom Harmony.
• Navigate and utilize Toon Boom Harmony's node view and tools proficiently.
• Perform light compositing tasks within Harmony, including lighting and basic effects.
• Create assets, poses, and drawing substitutions demonstrating strong draftsmanship.
• Apply simple to moderate frame-by-frame or hand-drawn animation techniques.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 2 years experience working with Toon Boom Harmony.
• At least 1 year of experience in a studio production environment.
• Flexibility to work across a variety of animation styles.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
• Proficient in understanding and implementing written, verbal, and storyboard feedback.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Strong time management abilities and comfortable meeting deadlines and daily production targets.
• High attention to detail and consistency in animation output.

Additional Information

A demo reel or portfolio is mandatory to be considered for this position. The role is an independent contractor opportunity, allowing remote work from home. Artists who own LLCs are preferred but not mandatory.

Compensation is competitive, with a base payment of $880 per production week.
