Job description
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive Freelance Social Media Manager based in London who excels in conceptualizing and executing impactful social media strategies that connect authentically with audiences. Your expertise spans social ideation, channel knowledge, data analysis, and trend awareness, enabling you to create compelling B2B social advertisements, user-generated content, and continuous organic campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the strategy lead to devise detailed, insight-driven social media strategies tailored to each client's brand, target audience, and business goals, including authoring these plans.
- Conduct thorough platform audits, analyze competitors, and research audiences to identify growth opportunities and market gaps.
- Define and manage strategy, tone, and content pillars across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and emerging channels.
- Confidently present strategic plans to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Develop and oversee editorial content calendars from ideation through timely execution, aligning content with key events, campaigns, product launches, and platform best practices.
- Actively collaborate with internal creative, copywriting, and design teams, contributing hands-on rather than delegating tasks.
- Manage the complete content workflow, identify risks and opportunities proactively.
- Work with clients and compliance teams to ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and is channel-appropriate.
- Manage community engagement by moderating brand channels in line with established protocols.
- Create social media content hands-on, including copywriting, visual concepting, and producing short-form videos, Stories, and Reels.
- Utilize tools such as CapCut or Canva alongside strategy resources to craft content.
- Collaborate with agency partners or internal teams to co-develop content, staying abreast of and experimenting with emerging trends and formats.
- Review and quality assure all outgoing content to ensure brand consistency and platform optimization.
- Serve as the agency’s expert on platform algorithms and best practices, applying current knowledge directly to client projects.
- Produce monthly reports for clients by aggregating data, creating presentations, and delivering insightful results.
- Share expertise internally through training sessions, trend updates, and reports.
Candidate Profile
- Between 3 to 6 years of hands-on social media experience, preferably within an agency setting, with a demonstrable portfolio showcasing direct execution.
- Proven capability managing multiple social channels for various clients simultaneously.
- Comprehensive knowledge of leading social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and X, with enthusiasm for emerging platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities capable of effectively pitching ideas.
- Highly organized, self-driven, and thrives in dynamic, collaborative environments.
- A hands-on practitioner who takes pride in quality personal deliverables rather than merely delegating.
Additional Advantages
- Experience with paid social advertising strategies such as Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and LinkedIn Ads.
- Proficiency in video editing software including CapCut and Adobe Premiere.
- Familiarity with social listening tools like Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Talkwalker, or Emplify.
