Job description
Role overview
This contract opportunity is suited to a photo retoucher who can produce refined, magazine-style edits with a very natural finish. The work centers on professional headshots for the real estate industry, where the goal is to enhance presentation while keeping the images authentic and believable. You will work through a batch of 268 images, choose the strongest frames, and deliver polished results that are appropriate for websites, property listings, and business cards.
A strong portfolio of similar work is essential, especially examples that show careful retouching on dark skin tones. The client places a high value on subtle, realistic edits rather than heavy manipulation.
Responsibilities
- Review 268 headshot images and narrow them down to the best candidates for final delivery.
- Retouch skin gently by reducing acne, blemishes, and scars while keeping natural texture intact.
- Replace backgrounds with a clean white backdrop to create a uniform, professional appearance.
- Apply warm color grading to improve the overall visual tone.
- Clean up flyaway hairs and minor visual distractions without changing facial structure or body shape.
- Maintain a natural look throughout, avoiding over-smoothing, exaggerated color changes, or reshaping.
- Provide high-resolution, print-ready files suitable for web use, listings, and business cards.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience retouching editorial or corporate headshots, with portfolio examples that show natural results on dark-skinned subjects.
- Advanced ability in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, or comparable retouching tools.
- Good grasp of color grading, skin tone correction, and non-destructive workflow practices.
- Capability to maintain a consistent standard across a large image set.
- Sharp attention to detail and a clear focus on preserving authenticity.
- Prior experience with real estate photography or professional branding work is an advantage.
- Dependable, deadline-conscious, and comfortable incorporating feedback.
