Freelance Language Translator – English (US) to Hungarian

Role and Responsibilities

• Translate and proofread various video game content including in-game text and marketing materials using CAT tools such as memoQ, Phrase, or Smartling.
• Focus on the language pair English (US) to Hungarian to make games accessible to new audiences.

Candidate Profile

• Outstanding proficiency in both English (source) and Hungarian (target).
• Previous experience in translation, Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE), and proofreading is essential.
• Familiarity with CAT tools, specifically memoQ, Phrase, and Smartling, as well as Plunet TMS.
• Experience with translation and proofreading of video game-related content is required.

• Your rates for translation, proofreading, MTPE, and hourly rates for related tasks such as transcreation, familiarization, testing, and linguistic quality assurance.
• Portfolio or references including games you have translated, with links to profiles like Moby Games or credits.

• A cover letter accompanied by a recommendation reflecting your experience in gaming translation.
