Role Overview
This role is designed for aspiring franchise store owners who are passionate about retail management and want to lead stores with vision and drive. The Franchisee in Training program provides comprehensive training with seasoned professionals, exposure to different markets, and a pathway to manage one’s own store upon completion. The position requires flexibility to work varied hours and travel within an assigned region.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all assigned training modules and projects throughout the Franchisee in Training program.
- Engage in mentorship to develop entrepreneurial and leadership capabilities.
- Participate in real store operations by shadowing current Franchisees and assisting store teams.
- Gain hands-on expertise in store and staff management, administrative duties, reporting, and community involvement.
Working Conditions
- Flexible schedule including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Willingness to travel within the region, including occasional overnight trips to the Home Office in Ottawa and other stores.
- Work will typically occur within a 100km radius of the assigned store.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Post-secondary certification in Business Administration, Retail Management, Operations Management, or equivalent retail experience.
- At least three years of retail experience, including a minimum of one year in a supervisory capacity.
- Proven ability to lead and coach teams with adaptable leadership styles suitable for diverse team members.
- Competent with basic computer skills and eager to learn new systems and procedures.
- Strong communication skills, proficient in both verbal and written forms.
- Excellent planning and organizational capabilities for managing tasks and projects efficiently.
- Active community involvement and engagement in non-profit activities or local organizations.
- French language proficiency required for roles in French-speaking regions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience analyzing sales data and customer feedback to drive strategic business improvements.
- Visual merchandising expertise.
- Familiarity with Workday or similar people management and scheduling software.
- Bilingualism in English and French is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary ranging from $74,500 to $111,800 annually, based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
