Role overview

A privately held electronics manufacturing company is hiring a Financial Business Analyst to strengthen its finance function. This is a newly created position based in Melville, NY, with a working arrangement of four days onsite and one day remote each week. The compensation package includes a base salary of up to $110,000 along with a bonus.

The role reports directly to the CFO and offers broad exposure to senior leadership. It is designed for someone who can turn financial analysis into practical commercial recommendations and help guide decision-making across the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Review profitability, margin performance, pricing, and overall business results.
  • Work closely with Sales Leadership and business unit leaders to deliver financial insights and recommendations.
  • Assess customer profitability, product mix changes, and commercial performance trends.
  • Create reporting and analysis that supports strategic choices and business planning.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial modeling.
  • Spot operational patterns, potential risks, and opportunities to improve results.
  • Dig into data issues, resolve inconsistencies, and suggest process enhancements.
  • Share analysis and recommendations with senior stakeholders, including executive leadership.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline, along with at least 3 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, commercial finance, strategic finance, or business analysis. A strong grasp of profitability drivers, pricing, margins, and financial performance is important, as is the ability to explain financial findings clearly to non-finance audiences.

Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical thinking are essential. The company is also looking for someone who has experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, can work independently, and brings a proactive, self-driven approach.

Preferred background

Experience in manufacturing, distribution, industrial, consumer products, or another product-led business will be viewed favorably. Familiarity with ERP systems is also a plus, along with exposure to sales performance analysis, customer profitability analysis, or commercial finance.
