Job description

About KPay Group

KPay Group is a fintech company focused on helping organizations of every size run more smoothly with secure, simple, and connected technology. The platform supports financial management, business operations, and digital transformation for more than 89,000 merchants across Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore.

In 2024, the company secured USD 55 million in Series A funding, which was the largest round globally in the payments industry that year. KPay was later named PayTech of the Year at the 2025 Asia FinTech Awards, included in Forbes Asia’s 100 to Watch list for 2025, and placed on Singapore's Top FinTech Companies 2026 list compiled by Tech in Asia and Statista.

About the role

This is a founding-team opportunity for a Business Development Executive focused on sales and strategy. You will join the launch team to shape the local go-to-market approach, win important partnerships, and help generate early revenue while building trust with local merchants.

The role suits someone with a strong background in sales, a builder’s mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment. It is intended for a professional who can help turn a market expansion plan into meaningful growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, take ownership of, and execute the local market-entry plan, including segment targeting, pricing direction, partnership development, and the sales model best suited to the local market.
  • Assess competitors and market whitespace to sharpen commercial positioning and keep the value proposition differentiated.
  • Proactively prospect, negotiate, and close merchant opportunities to set the standard for field sales performance.
  • Track and achieve daily and weekly activity goals as well as monthly acquisition targets that contribute to revenue growth.
  • Build strong relationships with early merchants after closing, maintain high satisfaction, encourage retention, and turn them into local proof points.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in B2B field sales, preferably in payments, POS, SaaS, or other technology-led businesses.
  • A strong outbound sales orientation with resilience, energy, and a consistent record of opening conversations and securing meetings with cold prospects.
  • Good familiarity with the local business environment, commercial centers, and merchant operating patterns.
  • Comfort working in a rapidly changing, high-growth setting where systems and processes are still being built.
  • Strong initiative and ownership, along with a willingness to learn quickly and work through ambiguity in a startup environment.

Additional information

This position is part of the founding team and is designed for someone who wants to help create the sales motion from the ground up. It is a hands-on role with direct responsibility for market growth, partnership development, and early customer success.
