Job description
About the company
Mixedbread is building retrieval infrastructure for modern AI systems, with a focus on search that works across formats, languages, and modalities. The company helps AI teams improve product performance without having to rebuild their retrieval stack from the ground up.
About the role
The company has recently launched a major product update and is seeing growing customer interest. It is hiring a founding GTM & Partnerships Lead to convert that early momentum into a scalable growth motion. This position blends sales support, go-to-market execution, partnerships, and customer development. You will work directly with the founders to shape the external operating engine: building pipeline, refining positioning, strengthening customer and partner relationships, and making sure launches lead to measurable traction. This is neither a classic Chief of Staff role nor a pure sales quota role. It is a high-ownership position for someone who wants to help define how a technical AI business goes to market from first principles.
What you'll do
- Set up and manage the company’s go-to-market operating system, including CRM management, lead tracking, segmentation, pipeline cleanup, campaign execution, and basic reporting.
- Assist founder-led selling by researching accounts, preparing for meetings, coordinating follow-ups, and keeping pilots, opportunities, and design-partner discussions advancing.
- Work with the founders on positioning, messaging, and market narrative across product launches, website content, decks, outbound efforts, and partner-facing materials.
- Transform launches, release updates, and technical content into coordinated distribution through social channels, email, outbound, and partner networks.
- Find, develop, and oversee partnerships within the ecosystem that can broaden reach, strengthen credibility, and create more customer pipeline.
- Own important customer relationships from the first conversation through onboarding and early adoption, working closely with founders and engineering.
- Plan and execute high-quality growth programs such as technical events, workshops, dinners, and design-partner initiatives.
- Gather customer and market input, synthesize it into insights, and bring those learnings back into product, GTM, and partnership decisions.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in startups or in business operations, go-to-market, partnerships, growth, product marketing, sales, or another role with a similar level of ownership.
- Strong execution mindset; able to move beyond advising and actively drive work through to completion.
- Excellent written and spoken communication, with the ability to simplify complex technical ideas into clear, compelling messaging.
- Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-changing environments and the ability to create structure where none exists yet.
- Capacity to switch between GTM work, partnership management, customer conversations, and founder support without losing momentum.
- Real interest in technical products and the credibility to work effectively with engineers, researchers, and technical buyers.
- A customer-first mindset and the ability to translate feedback into product and go-to-market actions.
Nice to have
- Background in marketing or selling developer tools, AI products, or technical B2B software.
- Experience creating or running CRM, sales, or marketing systems such as HubSpot, Airtable, Notion, or similar tools, with a focus on measurable outcomes.
- Experience supporting founder-led sales, partnership development, or design-partner programs.
- Exposure to product demos, pilots, events, or other creative growth programs.
- Strong instincts for content and distribution, with the ability to turn technical launches and research into effective external communication.
- Comfort using modern AI tools for prototyping, research, and GTM workflows.
- Experience working closely with founders or an executive team in a startup environment.
- Interest in growing into broader leadership responsibilities over time.
Compensation and benefits
The role offers competitive pay plus equity. Benefits include comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage; visa sponsorship and relocation assistance; a professional development budget; access to leading AI tools and subscriptions; team off-sites and conference attendance; transportation support; wellness support such as gym membership and sports club subscriptions; and food support.
