About the Role
We seek an experienced Senior Food Technologist with 5 to 8 years in Food Research & Development, specializing in premium and luxury food product innovation. The position is based in Bhiwandi, Mumbai, Maharashtra. The ideal professional will lead product development for ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages and gourmet pantry items, bringing deep expertise in food science and nutrition to craft innovative, compliant, and market-aligned products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end development and launch of new food products in the RTD beverage and gourmet pantry sectors.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of formulation science, food chemistry, microbiology, and sensory evaluation principles.
- Ensure all products conform to regulatory standards including FSSAI, FDA, and EFSA guidelines, facilitating safe formulations and accurate labeling.
- Innovate ingredient sourcing and create clean-label, functional foods aligned with wellness positioning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing teams, sourcing, and leadership to translate global food trends into scalable, high-quality offerings.
- Oversee product lifecycle management including data analysis and laboratory result interpretation to drive continuous product improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- B.Tech or M.Tech degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related disciplines.
- 5 to 8 years of professional experience within FMCG or premium food manufacturing sectors focusing on food R&D and product development.
- Proficiency in key areas including food chemistry, microbiology, nutritional science, functional food formulation, and sensory palate development.
- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance and food safety standards.
- Strong innovation capability particularly for luxury food products and functional nutritional positioning.
Additional Information
This role offers an opportunity to be part of a product-driven organization focused on developing luxury food products. The salary can be up to 20 lakh per annum based in Mumbai.
