Role Overview

The Food Service Worker (FSW) is responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages promptly and efficiently to individuals in the Crisis Stabilization Unit. The role involves maintaining accurate meal counts, adherence to menus, and ensuring food safety and cleanliness within the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain daily meal census to track meals served accurately.
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of kitchen equipment according to standards.
• Manage ordering and inventory of food and supplies within allocated budgets.
• Clean and uphold kitchen hygiene in compliance with public health inspection standards; store food safely following food safety protocols.
• Follow posted menus strictly when preparing and serving meals.
• Keep detailed temperature logs for refrigerators and freezers daily.
• Label food items with expiration and opening dates in line with safety guidelines.
• Participate actively in audits and reviews as required.
• Maintain emergency food supplies as needed.
• Complete mandatory online training courses.
• Check and respond to email communications at least weekly.
• Perform daily kitchen checklists consistently.
• Serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner to clients.
• Prepare snacks for consumption between meals.
• Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by supervisors.
