As a Food Quality Assessment Expert, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high quality standards worldwide by conducting thorough assessments and supporting continuous improvement.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, prepare and execute Global Food Quality Assurance (QA) assessments across METRO's entities globally, including countries, trading offices, and FSD companies, ensuring strict adherence to Global QA standards.
- Conduct both remote assessments of Quality Management Systems and on-site evaluations at stores, depots, production facilities, and FSD companies, requiring significant international travel.
- Analyze assessment outcomes, collaborate with relevant entities to align on findings, and present results via detailed reports and closure meetings.
- Prepare and review comprehensive assessment reports and key insights for senior leadership, including the Senior Vice President of Quality Assurance.
- Monitor and support Global Food QA Assessment key performance indicators and contribute to governance and performance reporting processes.
- Facilitate the growth and calibration of the global QA assessor community by organizing training sessions, workshops, and knowledge sharing.
- Continuously develop and refine assessment methods, standards, checklists, guidance documents, and other QA tools.
- Support ongoing enhancement of the Global Quality Management System and governance framework by identifying improvement areas and implementing best practices.
- Contribute to Ultra Fresh Operations projects by creating training materials, operational guidelines, and communications on food safety and quality.
- Engage in cross-functional initiatives to promote food safety, quality assurance, and operational excellence across METRO divisions.
Qualifications
- In-depth understanding of HACCP principles and Global Quality Assurance (GQA) standards.
- Proven experience with implementing and auditing Quality Management Systems.
- Completed lead auditor training.
- At least 3 years of audit experience focused on Quality Management Systems in a multinational environment.
- Strong communication skills including report writing and presentations.
- Self-driven, confident, and determined with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Adept at working independently and collaboratively within teams.
- Thorough knowledge of METRO’s QA requirements, manuals, and standards.
- Strong interest and expertise in international food quality and safety standards applicable to wholesale.
- Technical proficiency in food quality and safety matters.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
