Role Overview
The hotel is seeking a courteous, guest-oriented Food & Beverage Waiter in Nairobi to deliver a high-quality dining experience. The role is focused on attentive service, smooth coordination with the kitchen and wider service team, and maintaining the standards expected in a premium hospitality setting.
Key Duties
- Welcome guests warmly, guide them to their tables, and create a positive first impression.
- Record food and drink orders accurately, including any special instructions, and pass them clearly to the kitchen.
- Deliver meals and beverages promptly while maintaining a professional service style.
- Explain menu options, respond to guest questions, and offer suitable suggestions when needed.
- Recommend add-ons and highlight daily specials to support sales growth.
- Use knowledge of wine pairings and cocktail ingredients to help guests make informed choices.
- Keep tables properly arranged and ensure they remain tidy and ready throughout service.
- Handle billing and payment processing with speed and accuracy.
- Work closely with kitchen colleagues and fellow team members to keep service flowing smoothly.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Support routine side work such as replenishing supplies and cleaning dining areas.
- Resolve guest issues or complaints calmly, politely, and professionally.
- Help orient and train new staff on service routines and restaurant procedures.
- Attend pre-service briefings to stay updated on menu changes, special occasions, and VIP guest requirements.
- Comply with alcohol service rules and promote responsible beverage service.
Qualifications and Requirements
