The hotel is Wellington's largest economy accommodation, conveniently located within walking distance from major venues such as Takina, Te Papa, TSB, and Sky Stadium. It features spacious and lively Vivant restaurant dining areas that serve a substantial buffet breakfast alongside à la carte lunch and dinner options, catering efficiently to large groups.

Role Overview

As a Food & Beverage Attendant, you will play a vital role in creating memorable dining experiences for guests through your attentive service. The position involves working across breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts, offering a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly and professionally welcome guests upon arrival
  • Accurately take and process food and beverage orders
  • Promptly deliver meals and drinks to guests' tables
  • Clear and reset tables while maintaining cleanliness in the dining area
  • Address guest inquiries, requests, and complaints sensitively
  • Operate POS systems for payments and manage cash/card transactions
  • Ensure stations are well-stocked and orderly
  • Adhere strictly to hygiene, safety, and food handling protocols
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations
  • Assist with setting up and dismantling service zones as needed
  • Communicate dietary requirements or guest concerns to kitchen staff
  • Complete daily cleaning and closing checklists

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Flexibility to work a rotating 7-day schedule, with shifts possibly starting as early as 6:00 AM or ending late at night
  • Prior experience in food and beverage, barista, bar, or hotel hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Friendly and professional demeanor with enthusiasm for delivering exceptional guest service
  • Willingness to operate coffee machines or work behind a bar; training is provided if necessary
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment as a cooperative team member
  • Strong communication and time management abilities
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and carry light trays or equipment
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand such as citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa (no sponsorship or visa support available)
