About the Property
Mantra on Russell is based in Melbourne’s CBD, close to the lively China Town precinct. The property features apartment-style accommodation with one- and two-bedroom self-contained rooms, along with an on-site dining venue, Home Kitchen & Bar, serving guests with Melbourne-inspired food experiences. Role Purpose
As a Food & Beverage Attendant, you will be the first point of warmth and hospitality for guests, guiding them through the food and drink experience with attentive service and thoughtful recommendations. The role calls for a strong eye for detail, a guest-first mindset, and the ability to work closely with others to help deliver smooth and successful service.
Key Duties
- Build a friendly, inviting environment that helps turn each guest interaction into a memorable experience.
- Handle difficulties with a positive attitude and a practical, solution-focused approach.
- Enhance the dining experience by suggesting food and beverage options suited to outlets and events.
- Use upselling in a way that improves the guest journey and encourages return visits.
- Stay informed about products by actively gathering information and expanding your knowledge.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with both guests and team members to support efficient service.
- Keep service areas organised by setting up and clearing down spaces with care and accuracy.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate should have hospitality customer service experience and be comfortable working across different food and beverage service environments. Knowledge of table service, beverages, event service, and coffee preparation is highly valued. The role requires flexibility for early shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed, along with a valid RSA or equivalent certification for the relevant state or territory. A genuine interest in guest engagement and teamwork is important.
