Job description
Role summary
The Floor Technician supports the upkeep of contracted facilities by carrying out custodial tasks efficiently and in line with the organization’s image standards. The position works under the direct guidance of the Custodial Assistant Team Lead, Lead Custodian, and Success Coach, helping keep the facility clean, orderly, and presentable.
Key duties
- Deliver consistently excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
- Dust, wipe, and clean furniture and surfaces.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum flooring as needed.
- Remove waste, empty bins, and clean trash containers.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms and bathrooms using approved procedures, and replenish restroom supplies.
- Use cleaning chemicals and materials exactly as directed and follow all handling instructions.
- Wash accessible interior and exterior windows and clean blinds.
- Carry out assigned work while following the PRIDE core values.
- Attend required training sessions and in-service programs when scheduled by contract leadership.
- Be willing to take part in activities outside of Goodwill when requested.
- Complete other responsibilities assigned by contract leadership.
Minimum qualifications
- Comfort using a variety of custodial and general cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to operate custodial equipment safely.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to understand and follow directions accurately.
Physical requirements
- Must be able to bend, reach, and stand for long periods, and lift up to 40 pounds.
- May occasionally need to lift heavier items with help from another team member.
- Must be capable of repeated physical tasks such as mopping and sweeping.
- Manual dexterity is required for the role.
Special requirements
- Must be available for a flexible work schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A dependable mode of transportation is required.
