Overview
Doha English Speaking School (DESS), the premier not-for-profit school in Doha, Qatar, is inviting applications for the position of a dynamic Teaching Assistant/ Cover Teacher. The role involves supporting classes from FS1 to Year 2, including Music and French, and confidently providing teaching cover as needed. Responsibilities & Requirements
The ideal candidate should have experience working with children, preferably in FS/KS1 age groups, and a positive, flexible attitude. While a teaching qualification is preferred, it is not mandatory. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively within a team. English must be the candidate's first language. A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare is expected. Candidates must be residents of Qatar under spouse or family sponsorship.
Additional Information
- Applicants must have their degree and transcripts attested by a notary public and stamped by the Qatari Embassy in the country of issuance.
- Enhanced safeguarding checks are mandatory, including providing an International Child Protection Certificate or local equivalent, police clearance from all countries of residence over the past ten years, birth certificate, and relevant documentation for any name changes.
- Interviews are scheduled for August 2026 and will include a teaching observation. For local candidates, interviews will be conducted in Doha; international candidates will have video call interviews.
