Opportunity Overview
We are seeking an experienced Flavorist II who excels in developing innovative savory flavor profiles and desires to contribute to shaping future taste experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Independently formulate sophisticated savory flavors and collaborate within project teams to deliver effective flavor solutions for regional and international clients.
- Employ advanced sensory expertise and comprehensive raw-material knowledge to conceive, refine, and communicate compelling flavor concepts across diverse applications.
- Utilize both conventional and innovative technologies, including emerging molecules and delivery systems, to enhance flavor development and innovation.
- Manage mid-level creative briefs autonomously while maintaining effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to fulfill customer requirements.
- Develop strong internal networks and engage in technical knowledge exchanges to deepen understanding of raw materials, analytical techniques, and flavor creation methodologies.
- Engage directly with customers when applicable to capture brand requirements and translate them into impactful flavor solutions.
- Participate actively in category-specific initiatives and innovation programs, bringing creativity and early-stage problem-solving skills to the team.
- Support knowledge transfer by assisting senior flavorists in coaching and training less experienced team members.
- Exemplify leadership through cross-regional team interaction, fostering partnerships, and strengthening collaborative efforts.
Candidate Profile
- A bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or Food Technology; a master’s degree is preferable.
- Completion of the IFF trainee course and Associate Flavorist program or equivalent qualifications from a competitor.
- Possess 5 to 6 years of practical experience in savory flavor creation, capable of independently handling flavor development projects for regional and global customers and managing mid-level creative briefs.
- Demonstrated strong sensory abilities, extensive raw-material knowledge, and proven creativity in formulation.
