Role overview
This position is for a Flavorist II at Tastepoint by IFF, based at the company’s creative center in Dubai. The role is fully onsite and sits within a global organization focused on flavors, fragrances, food ingredients, health, and biosciences. The team works on technology-enabled flavor development that helps food and beverage brands build distinctive product identities and stay competitive in the market.
Key responsibilities
- Create high-quality savory flavor solutions independently and also contribute to project teams serving regional and international customers.
- Use strong sensory judgement and raw-material expertise to build, refine, and explain flavor concepts for different applications.
- Develop savory flavors with both established and newer technologies, including work with novel molecules and delivery systems.
- Handle mid-level creative briefs on your own while coordinating with cross-functional partners to meet customer needs.
- Strengthen internal relationships and take part in technical knowledge-sharing to deepen understanding of raw materials, analytical approaches, and flavor development methods.
- Work directly with customers when needed to understand brand objectives and turn them into effective flavor solutions.
- Support category-level initiatives and innovation efforts by contributing creative ideas and early-stage problem solving.
- Assist senior flavorists in coaching, training, and developing junior colleagues.
- Show leadership by staying connected across regional teams and encouraging collaboration and strategic partnerships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or Food Technology; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Completion of the IFF trainee course and Associate Flavorist program, or an equivalent program from a competitor.
- Five to six years of practical experience in savory flavor creation.
- Ability to independently create flavors for regional and global customers and manage mid-level briefs with confidence.
- Strong sensory capability, solid knowledge of raw materials, and proven creative formulation skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
