Job description
Role Overview
This position involves managing import and export customs permits for warehouse goods, ensuring all customs documentation is accurate and processed promptly. The role also includes coordinating duty payment permits for local domestic sales and working closely with customs officers to manage shipment arrivals and departures. Additionally, the role requires communicating shipment statuses to customers and arranging necessary payments and customs clearance through internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process import and export customs permits related to warehouse inventory.
- Handle duty payment permits necessary for local domestic sales processes.
- Coordinate with customs officials regarding shipment arrivals and departures.
- Verify and ensure the accuracy of information submitted in customs permits.
- Update customers regularly on the progress of shipment arrivals and dispatches.
- Collaborate with the Finance division to facilitate cheque requisitions to shipping carriers.
- Ensure timely customs clearance by coordinating with third-party service providers.
- Liaise with internal customers concerning goods receipt and release operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Completed GCE 'O' level, GCE 'A' level, or possess Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Business Studies, Administration Management, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year relevant experience in the logistics sector preferred.
- Certification such as the Certificate of Customs Competency Test for Declarants from Singapore Customs is an advantage.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is beneficial.
- Capability to maintain composure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while delivering excellent customer service.
- Strong administrative and communication skills.
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
- Experienced candidates may be considered for supervisory positions.
- Standard working schedule of five days per week, from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
