Role overview

This position is for a Fixed Wing First Officer based in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. The role involves supporting the Captain in operating the aircraft safely and efficiently, following the Flight Operation Manual as well as the applicable ICAO, GACA, and FAA rules and procedures.

Core duties

  • Serve as First Officer and carry out pilot monitoring or pilot flying tasks as directed by the Captain and in line with the Flight Operation Manual.
  • Complete cabin interior checks and pre-flight inspections before departure.
  • Set up the navigation systems and confirm that any manually entered data is accurate.
  • Collect weather updates, route details, file the flight plan, and review all flight information for accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the Captain to inspect instruments, engines, and communication equipment before the flight.
  • Handle required radio communication after engine start and during departure procedures.
  • Support final checks to ensure instruments and avionics are functioning correctly.
  • Fly the aircraft as assigned by the Captain in accordance with recognized aviation practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Continue building knowledge of the operating procedures for the aircraft type assigned.
  • Keep continuous radio contact with the relevant control authorities and provide position reports, while tracking any changes to the flight plan.
  • Use navigation equipment to maintain the correct aircraft track and stay within the cleared route.
  • Maintain the navigation log to compare actual progress against the planned route.
  • Inform the Captain of any irregularities and help assess alternate actions when needed.
  • Help ensure passenger safety and comfort, while supporting compliance with company, department, FAA, and safety rules.
  • Assist with aircraft securing, customs and immigration procedures, and passenger disembarkation.
  • Carry out other tasks assigned by the Chief Pilot, Fleet Captain, Training Captain, Captain, or their representative, including office duties if required.
  • Complete all assigned training courses.

Qualifications

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another technical discipline, at least 3 years of experience, and a minimum of 1,000 flight hours including IATP hours. Candidates must hold a GACA Commercial/Pilot license, a valid GACA Medical Certificate, and a GACA instrument rating.
