Role Summary

The Firing Point Safety Officer will be responsible for supporting the safe and orderly execution of range activities at the Multi Mission Range Complex (MMRC). This role involves close attention to weapon safety, range procedures, security compliance, and coordination during firer processing and safety briefings.

Key Duties

  • Make sure all weapon safety drills for the assigned firers are carried out according to the approved procedures.
  • Follow range conduct rules and the Range Standing Orders at all times.
  • Observe and enforce all required security procedures.
  • Support the safe running of the range by carrying out arrival break-arm checks, helping firers with in-processing, assisting the Chief Safety Officer with just-in-time briefings, and performing Detailing IC and After Action Review IC responsibilities.
  • Maintain smooth, safe operations throughout range activities.
  • Ensure firers complete the soldier satisfaction survey.
  • Promote and practise a strong safety-first mindset at MMRC.
  • Carry out other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Experience and Skills Needed

This position requires prior experience in military weapons technical handling, Authorised Operating Materials (AOM), and military safety management. Strong communication ability is also important for the role.

Contract and Conversion
