About the Role
Join our Security & Safety team at the DHL Hub Leipzig to ensure that safety is not just a concept but an active, lived reality for our employees, shipments, processes, and infrastructure. Your work will underpin the dependable delivery of international express shipments, including critical items such as spare parts and medicines, ensuring timely arrival when needed. Your Responsibilities
- Maintain operational hazard defense, ensure preventive fire protection, conduct rescue operations, and provide technical assistance at Leipzig/Halle Airport
- Coordinate with external contractors by issuing hot work permits, instructing and supervising performed tasks
- Operate specialized firefighting equipment during fire and emergency response activities, ensuring their functionality
- Identify and assess hazardous situations and risks to guarantee security
- Provide initial treatment to injured individuals in the role of a paramedic
- Conduct training activities such as instructing fire safety helpers and perform additional support and special tasks (e.g., equipment maintenance, fire extinguisher servicing)
Candidate Requirements
- Completed professional training and at least a fire service team leader certification according to FwDV 2
- Training in accordance with fire service regulations (e.g., breathing apparatus operator, radio communication)
- Valid driver's license class B, ideally also class C/CE
- Physical fitness and unrestricted suitability for fire service according to occupational health regulations
- Reliable, conscientious, and responsible work ethic
- Clean police clearance certificate
