Job description

Role overview

This permanent full-time position is based in Bremerhaven, Germany. The role focuses on protecting people and assets by inspecting, maintaining, testing, commissioning, and repairing fire safety and lifesaving equipment used on vessels, offshore installations, and in industrial settings.

You will work in hands-on, fast-moving environments and contribute to the upkeep and compliance of a broad range of systems, including portable extinguishers, fixed fire suppression systems, CO2 systems, foam systems, water mist systems, sprinkler systems, fire alarms and detection systems, emergency lighting, and breathing apparatus. The job also includes support with checks on hydrants, hoses, monitors, gas detection equipment, and other safety-critical items to help ensure compliance with marine and offshore standards.

The position offers variety, travel, and exposure to different vessel types and offshore assets. It is suited to someone who wants to deepen specialist technical capability while building a long-term career in survival and fire safety services.

Key duties

  • Carry out preventive servicing and scheduled safety inspections.
  • Maintain, repair, and test extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, fire blankets, alarm and detection systems, and breathing apparatus.
  • Support testing activities, equipment shutdowns, and urgent corrective work when needed.
  • Move, install, and return customer equipment safely and carefully.
  • Keep accurate service records and compliance documentation.
  • Offer practical technical guidance and support to customers.
  • Travel for training, offshore assignments, and priority projects as required.

Candidate profile

Applicants should have hands-on experience with fire safety equipment and breathing apparatus, ideally in marine or offshore environments. Strong capability in inspections, testing, and compliance reporting is essential, along with a valid driving licence and solid written and spoken English.

The ideal person is detail-oriented, communicates well, works effectively both alone and in a team, and brings a proactive approach to completing planned work. Willingness to travel is also required.

What’s offered

The annual salary for this role is €43,000 to €53,000, depending on experience.

Benefits include an extra day off for your birthday, a pension scheme, ongoing training and development, and a reward and recognition programme.
