About the Role
Medico Hub is urgently looking to hire a Fire & Safety Officer for a multi-speciality hospital located in Parel, Mumbai. This role is critical in managing fire safety compliance, prevention, and emergency preparedness within healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to all applicable fire safety laws and statutory regulations in the hospital.
- Design and implement the hospital's Fire Safety Management Program effectively.
- Conduct thorough fire risk assessments and identify potential hazards.
- Oversee maintenance and monitoring of firefighting equipment and protection systems such as hydrants, sprinklers, and fire detection devices.
- Coordinate and organize fire drills and emergency evacuation procedures regularly.
- Train hospital personnel on fire safety protocols and emergency response techniques.
- Draft, update, and refine Fire Emergency Response Plans.
- Liaise with Fire Brigade and relevant statutory bodies for compliance and emergency support.
- Perform safety audits, investigate fire-related incidents, and generate compliance reports.
- Manage the renewal of Fire NOCs and ensure continuing regulatory adherence.
- Support NABH accreditation efforts related to fire and life safety standards.
- Advocate for and cultivate a safety-first culture across all hospital departments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Engineering, Fire & Safety Engineering, Fire Technology, or equivalent with a diploma in Fire & Safety Engineering.
- Certified Fire & Safety professional from a recognized institute.
- Disaster Management Training is preferred.
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience in fire and safety management, ideally within hospital or healthcare environments.
Technical Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of fire prevention and protection systems including detection, alarm, hydrant, sprinkler, extinguishers, and smoke detection mechanisms.
- Familiarity with emergency evacuation protocols and disaster management strategies.
- Expertise in electrical, chemical, and gas safety considerations.
- Ability to conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) and manage occupational health and safety (OHS) requirements.
- Understanding of NABH standards, National Building Code (NBC), and fire safety rules including statutory compliance.
Key Competencies
- Strong leadership and ability to manage teams.

- Proficiency in risk assessment and detailed incident investigations.
- Excellent documentation, report writing, and communication skills.
