Fire and Gas Technician

Role Overview

This position is for a Fire and Gas Technician responsible for keeping site safety systems fully functional, compliant, and ready for use. The role covers maintenance, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation for fire detection, gas monitoring, and firefighting equipment in a Doha-based industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance and unplanned corrective repairs on fire and gas detection systems, alarms, and suppression equipment throughout the facility.
• Install and commission fire detection, gas monitoring, and firefighting systems according to project needs and site-specific specifications.
• Carry out functional testing, detector calibration, and loop checks for detectors, panels, and suppression systems.
• Identify system issues, troubleshoot faults, and complete repairs to keep fire and gas equipment operating reliably.
• Work in accordance with NFPA, IEC, and Qatar Energy site requirements and standards.
• Keep accurate inspection records, calibration documentation, and maintenance reports up to date.
• Follow site HSE rules, PPE requirements, and permit-to-work procedures at all times during field activities.

Requirements

• A diploma or certificate in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Fire Safety Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience working with fire and gas detection systems, ideally in oil and gas or petrochemical environments.
