Role overview
Join a fast-moving financial services environment as a Financial Reporting Specialist, where accuracy, regulatory discipline, and delivery under pressure are central to the role. This position offers the chance to contribute to financial statement preparation, support reporting quality, and help drive improvements across reporting processes.
What you'll do
In this role, you will prepare core financial statements and accompanying notes in line with accounting standards and disclosure obligations. You will also review reports for numerical correctness and the quality of disclosures, coordinate with partner locations for external submissions, and keep stakeholders updated on progress. The position requires regular interaction with internal teams to resolve accounting and reporting questions, as well as a proactive approach to process enhancements and control adherence.
Key responsibilities
- Compile primary financial statements and related notes in accordance with accounting and regulatory disclosure rules.
- Check financial statements for mathematical accuracy and completeness of disclosures.
- Coordinate with partner sites to support external deliveries and share status updates in a timely manner.
- Respond to stakeholder questions related to accounting and financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and suggest practical changes.
- Maintain compliance with risk and control procedures for client portfolios.
- Work from approved checklists and standard operating procedures, including updates after audit cycles.
- Partner with the internal control team to resolve issues as they arise.
- Support team productivity and contribute ideas to improve efficiency.
- Balance improvement initiatives with day-to-day workload responsibilities.
- Operate effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in financial reporting or audit within the funds industry.
- Postgraduate qualification, CA, or CPA with a specialization in Finance or Accounting.
- Ability to collaborate well in a team and build strong internal working relationships.
- Sharp attention to detail, especially when reviewing documents, with solid analytical ability.
- Working knowledge of major GAAP frameworks, including Irish/UK GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP.
- Comfort working under pressure while meeting demanding delivery timelines.
- Capability to implement change, improve efficiency, and manage initiatives alongside routine tasks.
