Overview
The FP&A Manager will lead Blossom's budgeting, rolling forecasts, and cash forecasting activities. This role is essential in upholding and evolving the company's financial and revenue models across both software and hardware offerings tailored for credit unions. As the inaugural FP&A dedicated hire beyond the accounting core, the job demands a detail-oriented and proactive professional comfortable with complex models and evolving data.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance the company's financial model ensuring alignment with business changes.
- Develop and update annual operating plans and rolling forecasts, integrating scenario analyses and sensitivities.
- Manage the cash flow forecasts ensuring accuracy and usability in decision-making.
- Lead monthly performance analysis comparing actuals with plans and forecasts, identifying drivers and proposing actionable insights.
- Improve forecasting processes, data quality, and FP&A platforms while collaborating on expense and headcount planning.
- Produce regular reports for management, board, and investors, covering SaaS metrics like ARR, MRR, ACV, margins, and KPIs.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Sales, Finance, and leadership on product launches, packaging, and deal structures.
- Oversee product pricing processes including market data review, pricing committee coordination, and developing pricing recommendations.
- Maintain pricing models spanning subscription SaaS, perpetual licenses, hardware, and bundled services.
- Analyze pricing elasticity, win/loss rates, discounts, and competition to inform pricing strategies.
- Support complex deal structuring and floor pricing for credit union clients in conjunction with CFO.
- Ensure pricing adherence to ASC 606 revenue recognition standards partnering with accounting.
- Standardize pricing approval workflows and documentation for staff and contractors.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven expertise in financial modeling using advanced Excel or Google Sheets with ownership of detailed operational models.
- Experience constructing robust P&L and cash flow forecasts, preferably in SaaS or technology sectors.
- Ability to work independently in dynamic, ambiguous settings with incomplete data.
- Strong analytical capabilities and communication skills to deliver executive-level recommendations.
- Collaborative approach working with cross-functional teams including Product, Sales, and Finance.
- Business acumen and interest in pricing and monetization strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing pricing models combining software and hardware offerings.
- Knowledge of ASC 606 application to bundled software and hardware contracts.
- Background in deal-desk or commercial finance for complex multi-component transactions.
- Experience in financial services technology sectors such as fintech, credit unions, or banking tech.
- Familiarity with FP&A software platforms (e.g., Mosaic, Planful, Anaplan) and business intelligence tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
- Advanced qualifications like an MBA or CFA designation.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- 4 to 7 years professional experience in FP&A, pricing, or strategic finance roles, ideally within SaaS or technology companies.
