About the Role

This opportunity involves supporting strategic financial decision-making within a technology-driven research and development environment, focused on partnering closely with engineering and product leaders to analyze investments, optimize resource allocation, and enhance overall business outcomes.

The role integrates financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and strategic planning to drive innovation initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data related to R&D activities and generate regular reports outlining trends, variances, risks, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to support budgeting and forecasting for R&D cost centers.
• Monitor financial performance versus budgets and provide actionable insights to improve expenditure efficiency.
• Maintain and update financial models, databases, and reporting tools pertaining to R&D expenses and workforce headcount.
• Track essential financial metrics, including expenditure trends, labor costs, and capitalized development expenses.
• Conduct financial analyses to aid strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and resource planning.
• Assess the financial viability of new R&D projects and develop financial models to support business decisions.
• Work alongside finance and technical stakeholders to enhance reporting accuracy and business transparency.
• Provide ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Identify and recommend improvements to processes, reporting techniques, and financial decision-making approaches.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial analysis or a similar finance position.
• Experience with research and development, engineering, technology, or product-focused organizations is advantageous.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Strong capability to interpret complex financial data and communicate clear, actionable recommendations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with both finance professionals and technical stakeholders.
• High attention to detail with the capability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic work setting.
• Ability to work autonomously while being a productive team member.
• Familiarity with financial reporting, forecasting, and performance monitoring is preferred.
