About the Role

Amazon, a global leader in electronic commerce, headquartered in Seattle, Washington, seeks a Financial Analyst II to join its Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team in Bengaluru, India. This role involves supporting Central Accounting and Tax Compliance functions within a dynamic, customer-focused finance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end closing processes including sub-ledger closures, general ledger reconciliations, reporting, and balance sheet analyses.
  • Conduct month-end flux analysis for Profit & Loss and balance sheet accounts and communicate insights and reasons for variances to stakeholders.
  • Apply deep accounting knowledge and expertise to identify and resolve complex financial issues, frequently consulting leadership to reach resolutions.
  • Ensure financial policies, procedures, and internal controls are documented, effective, and identify opportunities for process enhancement.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations relating to GST tax returns and sub-ledger reports, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Liaise closely with auditors to address queries and facilitate smooth audit completions.
  • Maintain Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), coordinate internal controls, and collaborate with stakeholders on improvements.
  • Support new business or system launches, including conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) related to accounting entries and financial reporting.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • More than 3 years in tax, finance, or analytical roles related to finance.
  • At least 4 years of experience handling Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable.
  • Minimum of 4 years applying financial performance indicators (KPIs) to conduct detailed analyses.
  • Over 4 years of experience driving process improvements through automation and analytical methods.
  • At least 4 years identifying, leading, and executing finance or business tools/process improvements aimed at automation, standardization, or simplification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • More than 4 years participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance controllership with measurable outcomes.
  • Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools such as SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos, and familiarity with financial systems like Oracle, SAP, Lawson, or JD Edwards.
