Role Overview
The Global Finance Solutions (GFS) team at Amazon operates in a dynamic and collaborative environment, prioritizing exceptional customer experiences. We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support financial operations including month-end close processes, accruals, and reporting. The role involves conducting monthly Profit and Loss analysis, financial forecasting, and utilizing advanced Excel skills to manipulate large datasets. Responsibilities also include headcount reporting, planning, and forecasting activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage financial closing tasks and generate related reports.
- Support monthly P&L analysis, forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Use financial systems alongside advanced MS Excel functions to handle large datasets effectively.
- Prepare headcount reporting, planning, and forecasting.
- Establish and monitor weekly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics for new or ongoing business initiatives and operational performance.
- Assist in tracking progress against key business goals promptly and accurately.
- Conduct ad-hoc business analyses and financial modeling.
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly business reviews by providing data-driven insights.
- Facilitate business review meetings using detailed data analysis.
- Identify and implement improvements in finance processes, including automation, standardization, and simplification.
- Detect and escalate data discrepancies, resolve inaccurate or incomplete data, or collaborate on solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Experience using data to influence business decisions.
- Chartered Accountant fresher or at least 1 year experience in FP&A, books closing, reporting, and analytics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in quickly managing, evaluating, and analyzing data to produce meaningful business reports.
- Strong financial knowledge combined with problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in the retail sector is advantageous.
- Familiarity with VBA, COGNOS, and SQL considered a plus.
