Role Overview

The Financial Analyst & Cost Accountant position focuses on monitoring financial performance and optimizing manufacturing costs across 22 production plants in North America's residential and commercial roofing industry. This role requires expertise in cost accounting combined with financial planning and analysis to standardize financial tracking, analyze production variances, and support strategic decisions at the multi-plant level. Proficiency in JDE ERP systems is necessary for managing intercompany transfer pricing and enhancing financial workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and regularly update standard product costs throughout all manufacturing sites.
  • Manage inventory valuation processes, including obsolescence reserves and annual physical inventory audits.
  • Verify accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOM) and routing to ensure precise product cost calculations.
  • Oversee and audit intercompany transfer pricing and maintain pricing alignments between shipping and receiving plants within ERP.
  • Document transfer pricing methodologies to meet corporate tax requirements and internal compliance standards.
  • Create and sustain KPI dashboards to benchmark and compare performance and profitability across plants.
  • Support Senior Financial Analysts in preparing operational budgets and rolling forecast updates regularly.
  • Analyze profitability on product lines and individual plants to influence pricing strategies at the corporate level.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business disciplines.
  • Preferred CMA, CPA, or CFA professional designation.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in cost accounting or financial analysis within manufacturing; roofing or building materials experience advantageous.
  • Practical experience with JDE ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with Power BI and Reports Now is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel as required to visit multiple plant locations across states.

Employee Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranging between $74,000 and $98,000, reflecting experience and professional credentials.
  • Comprehensive health insurance including virtual health services and Health Care Spending Account (HCSA).
  • Dental and vision insurance coverage.
  • Life insurance alongside long-term and short-term disability insurance plans.
  • Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) matching contributions.
  • Paid vacation and floating holidays.
  • Access to employee assistance programs and engagement initiatives.
  • Recognition programs including awards and service acknowledgments.
  • Tuition reimbursement opportunities.
  • Exclusive employee perks and discount programs.
