Role overview

The Financial Accounting Analyst position is a full-time hybrid opportunity based in Toronto, Ontario, with some flexibility to work remotely. This role is centered on core accounting tasks, financial reporting, and analysis that supports business decisions and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure balances are accurate.
  • Prepare journal entries, including entries related to revenue recognition.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial reports.
  • Analyze financial information to support strategic decisions.
  • Assist with compliance-related work and adherence to accounting best practices.
  • Contribute to full-cycle accounting activities as needed.
  • Support the preparation and review of financial statements and reporting packages.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, revenue recognition, and full-cycle accounting.
  • Ability to prepare, review, and interpret financial statements and reporting outputs.
  • Strong analytical ability to understand financial data and draw useful conclusions.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
  • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Careful attention to detail, along with strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
  • CPA designation, or progress toward CPA, is considered an advantage.
  • Experience with accounting software and AI-enabled finance tools is a plus.
