About the role

This position sits with a client that creates some of the most widely watched primetime television shows and films for major global broadcasters and media organisations. The role offers exposure to a fast-moving media production environment and the opportunity to work closely with a range of creative and operational teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the month-end close cycle and prepare management accounts.
  • Handle intercompany accounting work, including reconciliations, settlements and matrix reporting.
  • Build and reconcile cash flow forecasts, with a focus on effective accounts receivable management.
  • Contribute to the annual budget cycle and support ongoing reforecasting using the latest business information.
  • Work with production, operations and creative stakeholders to improve processes and ways of working.
  • Lead or support financial transformation efforts by introducing new systems, tools and practices.
  • Make sure VAT obligations and other tax requirements are met accurately and on time.
  • Work with internal and external auditors, answering queries and assisting through the audit process.
  • Help with forming new entities, winding down dormant entities and meeting statutory filing duties.
  • Provide commercial finance support and carry out a range of ad hoc finance assignments.

Ideal candidate

The employer is looking for a qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA or CIMA credentials and around 0 to 2 years of post-qualification experience. The person should bring a solid grounding in technical accounting, be comfortable posting journals and keeping financial records accurate, and be able to analyse and explain financial information clearly. A proactive approach, curiosity about the media and entertainment industry, and strong relationship-building skills across finance, operations and creative functions are important.

What’s on offer

  • An opportunity to work close to the heart of the global television and film industry alongside recognised talent.
  • Hands-on exposure to the production setting, including occasional in-person contact with talent and production teams.
  • A workplace that encourages innovation, creativity, continuous improvement and personal contribution.
  • Strong career growth potential, with performance acknowledged and rewarded.
  • Flexible work options and a positive work-life balance.
