Role overview
Air Shannon is looking for a qualified Financial Accountant to join its busy finance function in Shannon, County Clare. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this permanent position focuses on producing timely and accurate management accounts and financial information for both local leadership and the parent company.
What you will do
- Support the month-end close cycle by preparing journals, accruals, and prepayments.
- Carry out monthly profit and loss reviews and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
- Help prepare monthly reporting packs and cash flow forecasts.
- Assist with annual budget preparation and other one-off submissions or tasks.
- Contribute to the annual external audit and associated regulatory filings.
- Handle ad hoc accounting and reporting tasks as needed.
- Look for ways to improve processes and increase efficiency within the finance team.
Experience and qualifications
The role requires a professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 1 to 2 years of post-qualification experience. Experience using NetSuite, or a similar system, would be an advantage. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
