Role Overview
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, the Financial Accountant will ensure accurate financial records and deliver essential accounting support across the UCC Coffee Group, including month-end closing, capital expenditure management, cash flow forecasting, and tax compliance. The role also involves audit assistance, budget and forecast contributions, financial insight provision, and participation in process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries such as accruals, prepayments, and intercompany reconciliations supporting accurate month-end closure.
- Conduct timely balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and documenting risks and opportunities.
- Support financial reporting and cash flow forecasting with meaningful variance analysis to inform business decisions.
- Manage fixed assets, capital work-in-progress, lease accounting, and maintain precise CAPEX documentation.
- Execute tax compliance activities including BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and withholding tax.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy, assist with year-end audits, and contribute to ongoing process enhancements.
Candidate Profile
- Possess over five years of financial accounting experience, especially in month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliation, and compliance.
- CA or CPA qualification is preferred or candidates actively working towards these certifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with MYOB accounting software, which is essential for this role.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Able to manage multiple priorities effectively and perform well under pressure.
