Role Summary

The Finance Manager role entails managing the organization's entire financial activities, ensuring precise financial records, effective cash flow monitoring, compliance with statutory obligations, payroll administration, and robust financial controls. This position reports directly onsite to the Managing Director and offsite to the Regional Finance Manager, while collaborating closely with HR and Operations departments to support strategic financial planning and operational financial integrity.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage sales invoicing processes: prepare, authorize, dispatch to clients, follow up on acceptance and payments, maintain sales ledger and record transactions in Sage Accounting.
  • Oversee purchases and expenditures, ensuring payments comply with internal financial controls, administer supplier payments via Sage Accounting, and facilitate transitioning processes from Excel to Sage.
  • Conduct regular bank reconciliations, monitor cash balances, prepare cash flow forecasts, hold weekly cash flow meetings with the Managing Director, and assist with treasury and liquidity management.
  • Administer payroll operations, ensuring accurate tax calculations and remittance, coordinate with HR and Operations to maintain payroll accuracy, and uphold payroll controls and cross-training for business continuity.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements by preparing and submitting SSNIT contributions, VAT/NHIL returns, withholding tax, COVID-19 levy, and the 1% Growth & Sustainability Levy where applicable; act as liaison with tax authorities and auditors, prepare audit schedules, and coordinate external audits until finalized.
  • Review general ledger for anomalies, supervise inventory including uniforms and operational stock, prepare monthly management accounts timely, and ensure accurate financials in coordination with the Regional Finance Manager.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage Finance Assistants, allocate workloads, monitor adherence to financial policies, and drive ongoing improvements within the finance department.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations, assist in budgeting and planning, maintain solid communication with HR and Operations to reinforce controls, and support the Managing Director with accurate financial data for strategic decisions.
