Position Overview
Join IAG as a Finance Business Partner based in Auckland (Tāmaki Makaurau) where your financial acumen will directly influence key business decisions. This impactful, hands-on role involves collaborating closely with senior leadership to translate financial data into strategic business insights, driving sensible actions and focusing efforts effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior leadership to deliver financial insights that inform decision-making and enhance business performance.
- Compile and present monthly performance reports, transforming financial metrics into clear, actionable insights and business narratives.
- Take the lead on budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring that all assumptions are realistic, rigorous, and aligned with strategic priorities.
- Analyze differences between actual outcomes and forecasts to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and advise on corrective measures.
- Assist in developing business cases through financial modeling, scenario planning, and critical evaluation of assumptions.
- Foster strong, trusted partnerships within finance and across broader business functions to impact decisions and encourage accountability.
- Identify and drive process improvements aiming to boost efficiency and streamline financial operations.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional accreditation.
- Proven background in finance or management accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Experience in business partnering, ideally within the financial services sector.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the skill to convert complex data into straightforward, actionable insights.
- Ability to influence and engage with managers at varying organizational levels.
- Confidence to question assumptions and shape stakeholder viewpoints across the business.
- Effective communication skills that make financial data accessible and compelling.
