Role Overview
This full-time, on-site position in Cadiz involves preparing, cooking, and serving authentic Filipino cuisine for AYTB’s catering operations. The cook is responsible for executing menus, prepping ingredients, cooking and plating meals while ensuring consistent flavor, presentation, and portion sizes. Monitoring food freshness and quality, ensuring hygiene and safety compliance, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and orderliness are key duties. The role also includes coordinating with kitchen staff, assisting inventory management, and reporting shortages or equipment issues to supervisors. Additionally, the cook may participate in menu development, support special events, and adjust recipes based on guest preferences and dietary needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Extensive expertise in Filipino culinary traditions, capable of managing diverse traditional and regional dishes adapted for large-scale catering.
- Thorough understanding of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards with proven adherence to hygienic and safe kitchen procedures.
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen, managing time and multiple tasks while maintaining quality under pressure.
- Experience with inventory and stock control, including delivery inspection, proper ingredient storage, and minimizing waste.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, able to collaborate with a diverse team and follow supervisory guidance.
- Previous cooking experience in catering, hospitality, or industrial kitchen environments, ideally in large-scale operations.
- Willingness and flexibility to work on-site in Cadiz, including shifts on weekends and holidays as operational needs demand.
- Formal culinary education or certification preferred but practical experience accepted.
- Physical capability to stand for long hours, lift moderate weights, and safely perform manual kitchen tasks.
