About the Role
Wholesale Lift Trucks Ltd., a premier independent dealer for material handling equipment located in Thorndale, Ontario, is looking to recruit a skilled Field Service Technician. Our company, an Authorized Hangcha Dealer, services customers throughout Southwestern Ontario by providing new and used forklifts, maintenance programs, emergency repairs, parts, and equipment certifications. We seek a mechanically adept professional who thrives working autonomously and values exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts powered by electric, propane, or diesel as well as other material handling machinery.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance services, yearly lifting device inspections, and safety checks.
- Troubleshoot issues in hydraulic, electrical, drivetrain, steering, braking, and mast assemblies.
- Handle warranty repairs and apply manufacturer updates as needed.
- Communicate professionally with clients about machinery status, repair recommendations, and upkeep advice.
- Coordinate work daily with the Service Dispatcher to manage service calls efficiently.
- Collaborate with the Parts Department to ensure stock availability prior to repairs.
- Complete digital work orders thoroughly and promptly.
- Keep the company service vehicle clean, organized, and well supplied.
- Adhere to company safety protocols and maintain a professional appearance representing Wholesale Lift Trucks Ltd.
Candidate Profile
- 3 to 5 years experience repairing forklifts, heavy machinery, farm equipment, construction vehicles, or automotive equipment.
- Proficient diagnostic skills in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Experience working with electric forklifts or electrical systems is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of lithium-ion battery systems is a plus; training is provided.
- Strong abilities in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical problems.
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
- Capability to operate independently with minimal guidance.
- Valid Ontario G Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Certifications such as Ontario 310S, 421A, Heavy Equipment Technician, or Red Seal are beneficial but not mandatory for experienced technicians.

Working Conditions & Schedule
